1960 Smith Corona Galaxie Serial # 6T 322700 1960 Smith Corona Galaxie typewriter, Serial # 6T 322700 Liz Glenn's 1960 Smith Corona Galaxie typewriter. 2021-05-30 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Liz Glenn: 1960 Smith Corona Galaxie Serial # 6T 322700 "Ruby Dreams aka Lady in Red"

Acquired this in April 2018. I am not seeing or feeling any faults. This has had little usage prior to me getting this because it is clean with original metal ribbon spools although I am currently using a fresher & much newer ribbon with plastic spools. The plastic frame is the whitest that I've seen on any typewriter. I am thinking this is factory or was professionally restored at some point in its lifetime. This is one of my daily favorites to use! It types like a dream!

Not this particular SCM Galaxie that I know of was used but a similar SCM Galaxie (1959?) with the same Hunter Red color scheme was used in the 1961 movie, Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Just a "Typewriter Nut". I like collecting technologies from the past such as typewriters and computers. There's just something about learning how things were made (& worked) back in the day!

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Galaxie on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Galaxie By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
