We've cracked the mysterious "decade code" in Brother serial numbers, which is to say there isn't one. Instead, efforts centered on nailing down what types and models were made in which decade and correcting the slightly wrong OMEF month code error. I found a PDF of a 1987 Xerox Factbook which indicated the year of introduction for each model made up to that point. Well, it's better than what we had, which was *nothing*. :D
