Description:
The big deal for 1973.
This one was super clean and appeared to be parked after a service. Well, it took me a while to figure out why the soft strike keys wouldn't hit. The last service included some new belts, and they put two primary (white stripe) belts on it. So it wouldn't drive the power roller fast enough to get an impression. After putting the correct secondary belt (longer and thinner) on , away we go.

Typewriters are the perfect blend of using one's technical skills, history and functional purpose. My goal is type tested machines. My interests are not isolated to any one area. For example, I am a big fan of Smith Corona electrics, mid century electrics and all things Royal.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Coronamatic 7000 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Coronamatic 7000 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
