Description:
Cycolac FTW!
This one is unique in the sense that the cycolac has developed a patina of Caramel which sets it apart from its "brothers." Also interesting, and why I enter it here, is that it is badged as a 300 but most definitely includes the features of a 300T, viz. a Tab and dedicated 1/! key. Interesting. I suspect that they carried on with the 300 badges despite shifting all production to 300T. Initially I wondered if the ribbon cover had been swapped, but the rear tag confirms it is labelled as a 300. I do love these Brother machines. Still has a soft platen and types very well with an elite typeface.

A lover of the written word, I was bitten by the typewriter bug at the beginning of 2019 when I embarked on a Joyful Odyssey to track down a vintage Olympia SM 7/8/9, (I didn't know the model number at the time) that my mother had owned and which I had used to type my college applications in the late 1980's. I have acquired quite a number since, and have enjoyed learning about the history, mechanics, and true variety of these machines.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Montgomery Ward Signature 300 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Montgomery Ward Serial Number page and the Montgomery Ward Signature 300 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
