Description:
This SM9 came to me missing all its keylever springs. After these were replaced, there was a persistent carriage grind which resolved after determining that yet another spring was missing. TWDB was instrumental in solving this because members often post photos of the underside of their machines. I saw that after about serial number 383XXXX, a new spring starts showing up on the bottom of SM9s. I inserted a spring in this location and my carriage grind disappeared. Thank you, TWDB!
Typeface is Script #69, compact enough to use with black/red ribbons.

I'm a novice collector with a very small collection of mostly nonfunctional typewriters. I enjoy tinkering and repairs, so I am slowly but surely putting these typewriters back into service.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia SM9 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia SM9 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
