Description:
Remington's equivalent to the Smith Corona Y series. It is slightly better, but that's not saying much. It is styled to match the Mark II (link). The first ads appear in 1961 and blowout prices for 1969 to wrap it up.
It is a wonder that many of these survive with an intact cover. This one had a broken case that I repaired. It looks like the machine may have fallen out of it. The carriage release lever was bent up and the spacebar was broken. The repair leaves SB uneven, but it works. The type alignment isn't worth the effort. Like the Y series, the typebars are very thin.

Typewriters are the perfect blend of using one's technical skills, history and functional purpose. My goal is type tested machines. My interests are not isolated to any one area. For example, I am a big fan of Smith Corona electrics, mid century electrics and all things Royal.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Remington Holiday on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Remington Serial Number page and the Remington Holiday By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
