Description:
Bought from eBay is very bad cosmetic shape. The internal mechanics cleaned up nicely and it types beautifully.
This is an example of a “Sad Face Voss” with a glum Wah! on its ribbon cover.
The lower shell came off easily in two pieces like a clam shell after I loosened the front and back clasps inside the shell.
The lower shell paint was blistering off in large patches, so I sandblasted and powder coated the lower shell at a community technical workspace. My daughter chose the aqua/teal color. The ribbon cover and cream accent pieces are the original paint with touch-ups.
Voss De Luxe serial number is located under the carriage on the right side. See photo below.
Interesting tab controls on right side of machine. The tab bar on front of machine is activated by pressing in and not down.
Plaid fabric carrying case.
Made in Wuppertal, Germany.
Cursive/script typeface.

I'm a novice collector with a very small collection of mostly nonfunctional typewriters. I enjoy tinkering and repairs, so I am slowly but surely putting these typewriters back into service.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Voss ST 24 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Voss Serial Number page and the Voss ST 24 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
