1957 Remington Quiet-Riter Serial # EQR293243 1957 Remington Quiet-Riter typewriter, Serial # EQR293243 Uwe Wachtendorf's 1957 Remington Quiet-Riter typewriter. 2018-10-22 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Uwe Wachtendorf: 1957 Remington Quiet-Riter Serial # EQR293243 Such a nice machine to type with, and I'm positively smitten by the design of its case, and yet for some reason I keep forgetting about this portable when thinking about front-of-class models produced during the '50s. In my book it certainly is an underrated typewriter.

As for the Quiet-Riter's nom de plume, the two examples I have of this model type almost as loudly as most other portables its size. Some day I'll have to make up a new decal for it: "Slightly Quieter-Riter".
