1955 Hermes Ambassador Serial # 773997 1955 Hermes Ambassador typewriter, Serial # 773997 Richard Wood's 1955 Hermes Ambassador typewriter. 2017-05-29 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Richard Wood: 1955 Hermes Ambassador Serial # 773997 - SOLD -

Typeface appears to be "Director-Elite" according to the Hermes Typeface Chart

Again, types by itself.

Extremely well made machine.

Platen removes in seconds and carriage has two bolts which are removed to allow removal of carriage.

This model is all setup for an electric conversion. It even has the power cord hole in the back.

I would wish mine had the carbon spools under the hood, but I am very lucky to own this as it is.

Typewriter collector, previous sewing machine collector.

Originally from the Garden of England, Kent. I have lived in Sheffield for over fifteen years.

As a young child, I always enjoyed taking things apart and seeing how they functioned.

I have been collecting a range of vintage typewriters for over two years.

Previously, I was interested in restoring sewing machines, then I acquired my mothers Olivetti Dora and looked under the hood and typed, I was hooked on typewriters and how they worked.

I learn something every day from passionate bloggers and typewriter enthusiasts.

Fan of Joe Van Cleave's typewriter video series.
