Description:
I found this Lexikon 80 at a Goodwill in a suburb of San Francisco for $18.99. It was in rough shape cosmetically-speaking: very grimy. It was gummy mechanically, but it responded to cleaning and a few minor fixes. To me, it is one of my most beautiful typewriters.
Made in Ivrea, Italy.
The cover and carriage are easily removed with just six screws.
The Lexikon 80 serial number is found next the right ribbon spool.

I'm a novice collector with a very small collection of mostly nonfunctional typewriters. I enjoy tinkering and repairs, so I am slowly but surely putting these typewriters back into service.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olivetti Lexikon 80 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olivetti Serial Number page and the Olivetti Lexikon 80 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
