Description:
Has a MC-88 Signal Corps front panel. It was covered up by a two-part dealer tag, which fell off while I was moving things around. No MIL keyboard. No indication that the panel came off another machine.
I guess the key is in the label? “Typewritersâ€, so there were options available. The double dash key is fractions.
Explain those marks on the slugs?

A tough one that required some harvesting to get going. As you compare eras, you can see where they made updates for problem parts.

Typewriters are the perfect blend of using one's technical skills, history and functional purpose. My goal is type tested machines. My interests are not isolated to anyone area. For example, I am a big fan of Smith Corona electrics, mid century electrics and all things Royal.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Remington 17 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Remington Serial Number page and the Remington 17 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
