Description:
I got this 1941 Remington 17--with the ridiculously wide 27" platen--not far from where I work in Villanova, PA back in 2014 or 2015. I even transported it on my little Vespa-like scooter! It has no lid, but it is really an amazing machine. It has taken up a big chunk of my office space ever since, which is probably why I never uploaded it to the database until 2022. It types surprisingly well... for something that looks like it should be lobbing field artillery at nazis in WWII.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Remington 17 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Remington Serial Number page and the Remington 17 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
