Description:
Another one that's perfect on the outside, but dirty on the inside. The keytops threw me for a loop at first because they are black. I have another Rem 5, and its keytops are the typical silver.
Need to get the platen sanded or replaced. Only problem with it is that the paper doesn't feed very well. Other than that, I have no complaints.
Spent a bit much on it, but for one in such good condition, I consider it worth it.

I am a typewriter collector. I'm moving into a new phase; one where I am filling gaps and paying what's necessary to get what I want....
I know I take crappy photos. I just have an older iPhone and am impatient. When I get a real camera (or borrow one), I'll upload better ones.
The ironic thing is that I am a pretty good amateur photographer. My excuse is that I work in film almost exclusively....
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Remington Portable 5 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Remington Serial Number page and the Remington Portable 5 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
