Description:
I found this one in a thrift shop in terrible shape: very dirty with a broken draw string. Worst of all: ten key tops had been chopped including the "Shift Freedom" keys.
I cleaned the typewriter and replaced the draw cord. I found reproduction typewriter key charms at a craft store that made pretty good replacement key tops and secured them with metal epoxy putty.
She cleaned up beautifully and types like a dream though the left margin is inconsistent. I still need to address a sticky ribbon vibrator - may need further cleaning or gentle bending.

I'm a novice collector with a very small collection of mostly nonfunctional typewriters. I enjoy tinkering and repairs, so I am slowly but surely putting these typewriters back into service.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal Aristocrat on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal Aristocrat By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
