1939 Remington Remette Serial # CCR22484 1939 Remington Remette typewriter, Serial # CCR22484 Jonathan Sprung's 1939 Remington Remette typewriter. 2023-01-05 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Jonathan Sprung: 1939 Remington Remette Serial # CCR22484 My father bought this machine for me at auction in 2008, and I didn't have to do much of anything to get it in shape. Cleaning, tuning, and taking a bit of rust from underneath. They are a temperamental typewriter, and require care to type a letter. You wouldn't want to write a novel or a play on one. But still, a nice little machine.

I have been collecting typewriters all my life, starting with a 1980's Brother Charger 11 (which I no longer have, but have replaced with an identical machine). I have well over 60 typewriters now, with a few rare portables. Some are interesting or odd, but most of mine are common machines.

My wife and I have made a deal, that I can keep buying typewriters if she can keep buying shoes. Fair enough! *shrugs*
