Description:
Remington DeLuxe Junior (July 1938-July 1941?)
Serial numbers: SD268298-SD292828 (July 1938-August 1941, sequence shared with Envoy type 1)
Number made: 24,531 (including Envoy type 1)
This is similar to a Home Portable. There is no ribbon selector, RS margin, line lock/bell, or platen scale. Unlike the HP it also lacks the shift lock. An interesting negated feature list, yet they put the Model 5 return arm on it, and would then need a larger case. Maybe this accounts for so few of them being sold. This one is pretty rough, and the ribbon lift is broken.

Typewriters are the perfect blend of using one's technical skills, history and functional purpose. My goal is type tested machines. My interests are not isolated to anyone area. For example, I am a big fan of Smith Corona electrics, mid century electrics and all things Royal.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Remington Deluxe Junior on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Remington Serial Number page and the Remington Deluxe Junior By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
