Description:
This was a catch, clean and release. I found it in the neighborhood junk store in a very dirty state and not moving due to dirt, congealed grease and a detached drawband. The owner of shop let me take it home just to clean it and see if I could get it working.
Cleaned, lubricated and drawband re-attached, it is a handsome machine with a surprisingly sprightly touch - a memorable friskiness. After a weekend of working on it, I brought it back to the junk shop in fine working order.
I felt a little pang at letting it go, but it should now be able to find a good home in its current working state.

I'm a novice collector with a very small collection of mostly nonfunctional typewriters. I enjoy tinkering and repairs, so I am slowly but surely putting these typewriters back into service.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal KHM on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal KHM By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
