Description:
Found in the furthest darkest corner of an antique shop, under a bunch of board games. With a base but no lid.
All rust and melted rubber, it was a mess. Broken drawband too.
Completely refurbished by myself, and new rubber from JJ's.
He is now my cranky old man, Walter.

Small time collector working on skills as a hobbyist repair technician. Mostly a writer with a hatred for computer word processing programs. I think I have found my Eleanor, but I keep looking and giving away my machines until I have just the right one. Plus I love working on and cleaning these amazing machines.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Remington Portable on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Remington Serial Number page and the Remington Portable By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
