Description:
I found this incredibly well preserved, open-bodied Hammond Multiplex typewriter on Craigslist in late 2016/early 2017 outside of Detroit. One of my good friends picked it up for me at a Messianic Jewish synagogue in Auburn Hills, Michigan en route to a Detroit Red Wings game. He brought it back to Iowa, where my parents took possession of it, and eventually drove it here to the Philadelphia suburbs. I wasn't disappointed! It types great, and is in great shape. The cover is full and intact, it came with the original tools, instruction manuals, list of typeshuttles, as well as four typeshuttles: the caps/small caps being my favorite.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hammond Multiplex on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hammond Serial Number page and the Hammond Multiplex By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
