1913 Remington 10 Serial # 302273 1913 Remington 10 typewriter, Serial # 302273 Dimitris Nikou's 1913 Remington 10 typewriter. 2020-07-17 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Dimitris Nikou: 1913 Remington 10 Serial # 302273 Beautiful Remington Standard 10 manufactured in 1913, found on a Facebook Marketplace ad for just 50 Euros - as a "non working, for decoration only". It has French AZERTY keyboard. All keys respond and strike perfectly, the carriage works, the bell also, the platen needs probably to be changed, it doesn't have ribbon but it does have its ribbon spools. The decals are not well preserved, except the one on the back. Especially on the front, someone obviously painted over the body of the machine and covered the decal - in one of my close up photos you will easily notice the letters under a layer of black paint. I hope I can get that recovered in some way. The machine is in good overall condition, considering that it is now 107 years old. It certainly needs good cleaning, a new ribbon and hopefully I will soon bring this beautiful typewriter back to life again.

Update: I did a trick to give you a typing sample, using two sheets of A4 with carbon paper between ;-)

Writer and blogger from Athens, Greece. I own a small collection of typewriters, most of my machines are functional and I try to repair any with problems that keeps it from typing. For me, it is important for a typewriter not just to sit on a shelve for display, but to be able to type when I want to. On the links below you will find my blogs and social media profiles. Feel free to follow me and get in touch if you want. I am always happy to communicate :)

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Remington 10 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Remington Serial Number page and the Remington 10 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
