Description:
Purchased online and damaged in shipment. Both shifting arms, the left rear frame corner and the front frame bar were fractured. I used J-B Weld KwikWeld epoxy adhesive for repair. The Fox types nimbly after minor repair and rust/corrosion abatement.
The keyboard includes right and left manicule, degree, pilcrow and section sign characters. See typeface sample and detail photos.
The typewriter has a staggered double row of typebars.
Easily removable carriage (4 screws) and easily removable platen (2 screws)
Basket shift, four bank.
My machine is missing tab stops, front tab key, front stencil key, ribbon oscillator knob, and an unidentified lever on the left front of the machine. The ampersand on the type slug is worn off.
UPDATE: passed along to another typospherian who has plans to completely overhaul the machine.

I'm a novice collector with a very small collection of mostly nonfunctional typewriters. I enjoy tinkering and repairs, so I am slowly but surely putting these typewriters back into service.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Fox 24 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Fox Serial Number page and the Fox 24 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
