Description:
I recently had not one but two Hammond 2s with the ideal keyboard fall into my hands. I call them "the twins." Probably the best way to differentiate them is the spacebar, badge, and case. This one has the yellow spacebar, the Hammond "world" badge is on the left side of the base, and the wooden lid does not have the "Hammond" decal. This one came to me by way of a local collector in Philadelphia, PA in November of 2022. With proper maintenance and lubrication, it types well enough, though faint. I'll need to adjust the ribbon shield, I believe. The backstory is that it belonged to a longtime Philadelphia lawyer, who kept it in his office, before being bequeathed (some 20 years ago) to the man who sold it to me.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hammond 2 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hammond Serial Number page and the Hammond 2 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
