Description:
Like everyone here who has posted an Epoch, I do so with a bit of shame. I mean, it's a typewriter, right? It's got all the elements. It types. I picked this one up for $25 from a thrift shop just to see what it's like. Everything on this machine is cheap, cheap, cheap. Nearly the whole thing is plastic. I'm afraid to use it because if something breaks there's no soldering, welding, replacing, or fixing to be done. It's a one-off novelty that has no long-life forecast like its simple predecessors.
That said, it actually types well. I mean, it doesn't feel solid but the type is nice and crisp on the page, and even if it's not aligned, one could possibly use the machine for a project. A letter for sure.

I have been collecting typewriters all my life, starting with a 1980's Brother Charger 11 (which I no longer have, but have replaced with an identical machine). I have well over 60 typewriters now, with a few rare portables. Some are interesting or odd, but most of mine are common machines.
My wife and I have made a deal, that I can keep buying typewriters if she can keep buying shoes. Fair enough! *shrugs*
