The most recent addition to my small collection, a Used.ca purchase.
I haven’t been able to get much use out of it yet as I am still (impatiently) awaiting the shipment of a ribbon spool that will fit properly. But from the tapping I have done, I can say that this little portable is in very good condition. Knobs, keys, and carriage move as they should. The paint is mostly preserved, save for a few patches of wear in areas of high use. The “orchid purple” paint is still so vibrant that I decided to photograph this typewriter in daylight, for full effect.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to retrieve a make-year from the TWDB Serial No. reference page, which does not extend to serials prior to SR 14972. But, this machine does have a number in the same SR 5XXX range shared by the other two Porto-Rites on this site.
Can’t wait to get the ribbon on! Will update with typeface sample.
