Description:
It's an end-of-era typewriter. In offices, she stood next to the computers. She didn't have to write much. It had many features that were previously hard to find on typewriters: centring, bolding, underlining, bordering text, and even justification. In addition, a built-in correction band.
The SP series are very fast and well-functioning machines. One moving part. Easy to change typeface (daisy wheel type). This model has a simplistic typeface, which is great for OCR and looks really nice. You can use 10, 12 or 15 CPI fonts here.
The machine has a memory of up to 15 pages and can correct text that was already written and printed on paper. It can append a word inside and move the following text. It is possible to print directly on paper or print full lines (limited editing options on LCD screen). You really need a manual to use its features. Nothing is intuitive here.
The SP series had many models including SP20 without an LCD display, the SP24 with a 16-character display and less memory, and the SP28 with an 80-character display.

Typewriters were always around me. Some have been with me all my life. Others I saved from being thrown in the trash when the computer age came.
I'm not creating a museum. My typewriters are used. Rarely but regularly. Therefore, the collection is not large, and each machine has a Polish typeface.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Optima SP28 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Optima Serial Number page and the Optima SP28 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
