Description:
I purchased this typewriter for my husband, but I'm the one who uses it primarily. Which I'm quite happy about, lol, as it has a super light touch and a nice snappy feel (though in a much different way than my Smith Corona Silent. It's difficult to put into words what the difference *is*, exactly). It has a beautiful script font. I have been unable to narrow down the year it was made...there doesn't seem to be a lot of information about these machines floating around. Oddly, all of the ones I've seen seem to have this same script font.

Longtime poet with seven typewriters in my collection currently (not counting ones I'm in the process of selling). I'm a super speedy typist, so my favorite machines are the ones that require the lightest touch to operate. Over the years I have learned the hard way that how light of a touch a typewriter requires is definitely subjective; many machines others say are "easy", I find cumbersome. But I love all my machines and collecting them is sadly addictive (sadly since they are difficult to acquire on the cheap locally, and they certainly take up more space than my knickknack collection. Ha).
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Privileg (Nakajima) 270S on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Privileg (Nakajima) Serial Number page and the Privileg (Nakajima) 270S By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
