I just wanted one typewriter for my sideboard, and somehow I ended up with 39!
I absolutely love the whole process: cleaning them up, taking them apart, putting them back together, and giving these machines back their dignity with a little restoration work.
I'm not an orthodox typewriter restorer, though. I don't obsess over keeping everything perfectly original. For me, the main goal is making sure they are technically and aesthetically up to what people expect today.
