Description:
"Harry"
I acquired this in February 2022. This one is built like a tank and is a very quick basket/segment-shifted machine that has a built-in paper injector, half-line spacing (1 1/2 & 2 1/2), security feature on the 6 key, brackets, 2 changeable type spots, power-return, 2 ribbon-spools system and was probably was one of the top of the line electric typewriters in 1984. It is very similar to Smith-Corona's Coronamatic series but without the dreaded one-time use cartridge. I believe this was made in Singapore. This also has a correcting feature but it needs the black/white correcting ribbon, which I won't use. It does type in red when I switch it over to the correcting feature.
It was professionally cleaned & tested by Duane Jensen. He replaced the original rock-hard platen with a NOS platen. It's working beautifully.
It came in like 2-3 other colors but I think the white body/blue keytops looks the best.

Just a "Typewriter Nut". I like collecting technologies from the past such as typewriters especially the ones with special/rare typefaces. There's just something about learning how things were made (& worked) back in the day!
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Executive Correct on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Executive Correct By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
