Nicknamed "Tan Stan"
For a fellow such as myself, who is forever touting the merits of the manual machine, having an electric seems an incongruity. But the Selectric is its own animal, not just an electric. It is a beautiful beast. Likely I will never own any other sort of electrical typewriter (I just don't care for them), but I will always want my Correcting Selectric II, and I will travel many hours for a repairman if I find it necessary.

Call me Papa. Some time ago, never mind how long precisely, I decided to buy a typewriter. I think it was a Royal, but as way led on to way, it got away from me. I got older.
