1981 Adler Junior 10 Serial # 14021468 1981 Adler Junior 10 typewriter, Serial # 14021468 Jonas Lauritsen's 1981 Adler Junior 10 typewriter. 2024-03-18 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Jonas Lauritsen: 1981 Adler Junior 10 Serial # 14021468 Picked this up for about $20.
It's in fine condition, and included both the original case and a bone-dry black 13mm ribbon that I haven't changed - thus, no typesample this time.
The keyboard is a Danish layout. It has no ! but it does sport the 1. There' is also no way to lock the carriage.
It was made in Japan, like a lot of the contemporary machines of this brand.

The real mystery for me is in trying to date this machine. It's no secret I lean a bit on existing registered machines here on the TWDB to help me identify the machines, but this time I'm confused. Not at all helped by the fact that my brand-plate is missing... So having looked through the TWDB, it looks identical to the ADLER / TRIUMPH Junior 12 models, even down to the serial number syntax, except for the fact that mine says Junior 10 on the carriage...

Adding to that, I haven't found any S/N listing to help identify the years for either Adler or Triumph versions of the machine, so I'm a bit in the dark. So at the end of the day, I'm going to assume it's an Adler Junior 10, made juuust before the Junior 12 models arrived, thus being comparatively close to the S/N syntax registered previously.

Needles to say, any information that could help me nail down something more precise, would be welcome. If I'm wrong in my assumptions, let me know as well ;)

Casual collector of replica flintlock pistols, and in that same vein, picked up a couple of typewriters through the years - as a mechanical engineer, I could not resist.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Adler Junior 10 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Adler Serial Number page and the Adler Junior 10 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
