Description:
The end of the JP-7 era continues with the Sears version from 1980. This is probably an 80-83 run.
Another low-mileage example where the OE grease slowed everything down, and the draw string was off. Tell me again how typewriters aren't supposed to be lubricated. If you take the margin release link out of the way, the mainspring rewind is much easier.

Typewriters are the perfect blend of using one's technical skills, history and functional purpose. My goal is type tested machines. My interests are not isolated to any one area. For example, I am a big fan of Smith Corona electrics, mid century electrics and all things Royal.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Sears Achiever on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Sears Serial Number page and the Sears Achiever By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
