Description:
This machine by the Portuguese company Messa was sold under many, many different brands and came in various color combinations. Made in Portugal reads proudly in two different places. This specimen was manufactured in the early 1970s, as another example I have has a slightly later serial number and a maintenance sticker with the date 7.12.1974.
Standard Pica typeface and the old Finnish standard keyboard layout. Has a tabulator, but the tabs are factory preset only.
Had been sitting in my neighbor's attic storage for decades. Was very dirty, but works nicely after cleaning. Designed for easy maintenance; the middle panel at the back can be removed for quick access, for example. The type action is very light and pleasant. Tilt-shifted, which is interesting. Quite big, but not very heavy, as it's rather roomy inside, making it easier to clean. Perhaps not the prettiest machine, but seems like a reliable workhorse.

I have been looking for ways to spend less time on electronic devices, and because of this I started doing my writing and translation work with pens and pencils, and now on typewriters as well.
I will probably start selling and giving away some of my machines after I figure out which ones are most useful to me. Some people have asked me for a working typewriter, so I have been on the lookout for machines purely for that purpose as well.
