Description:
This Hermes 3000 was delivered free as a gift from a friend, and needed a thorough cleaning. After cleaning and alignment (including loosening screws on the back of the carriage and readjusting the carriage back plate) the carriage again moved freely. The margin controls are interesting, and I haven't seen another typewriter that has margins that work the same was as the Hermes 3000. The typing is pleasant and I enjoy writing letters on this typewriter, however the key covers on the "1" and "2" keys get caught on the outer plastic of the typewriter. Overall, a typewriter I am pleased to have in my collection! But as nice as a typewriter as it is, I would say that Hermes 3000 series typewriters are not worth the current prices seen online.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hermes 3000 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hermes Serial Number page and the Hermes 3000 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
