Description:
It quacks like a Tippa S, so it must be a Royal Sahara eh? Yup, post-merger with Litton rebadge. I've heard people complain about the later Tippas for various reasons, and they certainly aren't as high quality as the originals, but this machine feels better built and types better than a lot of the contemporary portables and ultraportables. Collecting Royals and Adlers and Triumphs, getting one that bridges both brands was an obvious add, plus it's fun to put it next to my first-generation Gossen Tippa for comparison. Standard pica typeface. I got this early on and couldn't find the serial number at first.. when I finally did I sounded like Khan spotting the Enterprise running for the Mutara Nebula. Hey, I can be a nerd at more than one thing, right?

New collector with a penchant for offbeat models/brands and, conversely, the mundane models many overlook, if I have a personal connection or just find them interesting. Finding that collecting typewriters is like eating potato chips, you can't have just one! Also restorer of mechanical calcs, Vintage audio, and vintage computers.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal (Triumph-Adler) Sahara on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal (Triumph-Adler) Serial Number page and the Royal (Triumph-Adler) Sahara By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
