Description:
Olympia Traveller de Luxe typewriter with Greek typeface, made by UNIS in Yugoslavia. Located and pulled off a stack of old things at a small, untidy antique shop and purchased at a very low price, the machine is in excellent condition, "saved" by its plastic cover which is badly hitten. I love the design, charming retro style and representative of the 70's era, but also -in a way- modern and contemporary.
I think this machine was not used that much in the past, it types great, everything seems relatively new and untouched and that is really impressive. All it required was a good cleaning and it was ready to work. If there is something I could note as "disadvantages", comparing this with my other ultra portable typewriters, is that the Traveller de Luxe is heavier (5,2 Kg) and a bit more noisy when I type and as I see many others are making the same comment about this machine. Other than that it is very steady, well made and easy to use.

Writer and blogger from Athens, Greece. I own a small collection of typewriters, most of my machines are functional and I try to repair any with problems that keeps it from typing. For me, it is important for a typewriter not just to sit on a shelve for display, but to be able to type when I want to. On the links below you will find my blogs and social media profiles. Feel free to follow me and get in touch if you want. I am always happy to communicate :)
