1976 Smith Corona Coronet Super 12 Serial # 6LEA 663223 M 1976 Smith Corona Coronet Super 12 typewriter, Serial # 6LEA 663223 M David Richman's 1976 Smith Corona Coronet Super 12 typewriter. 2026-10-16 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of David Richman: 1976 Smith Corona Coronet Super 12 Serial # 6LEA 663223 M This is a fully complete Smith Corona Coronet Super 12, I bought it from a thrift store for like $34 witch seemed like lot but I think it was worth it.
This typewriter comes with all of its original paper work, Manuel, Receipt, Some order forms, a touch typing course, and even the original plastic protective cover with instructions on how to remove the machine from the case properly.
The receipt is interesting, this typewriter was sold on May/22/1977 for $193, it was sold at a Kmart. actually that particular Kmart, store number 3232, closed in 2016 so almost 40 years after this machine was sold.
Ok, now the typewriter itself dose have some mechanical issues that I need to fix, like the 'I' and 'K' keys don't fire, there linkages were disconnected somehow... actually I think that may be the extent to this machines problems, even the original ink cartridge works, and surprisingly is the one the typewriter was purchased with back in 77.
I will add a type specimen in the future but not yet as not all the keys work.

Hi, I started collecting typewriters in my early teens . One day I stumbled across an antique store on my way home, I saw a typewriter outside the shop and I urged my Mother to pull over so I could check it out. I don't know where this intrigue can from but after that machine I became fascinated with them. I figured I should mention that, most people seem to get into this hobby for nostalgia, I just like mechanical things.
I started a Youtube channel called The Jersey Type
