I doubt we want to start off down this path, but....
I am including this eBay sighting only because it gives the serial number _and_ the year of purchase and it should help with the notoriously incomplete Smith Corona Marchant dating records. The listing includes receipt of purchase, dated 4-19-74, price $170.80.
I expect we will discuss the advisability of this in the comments.
