Description:

*Spanish keyboard* electric I won on shopgoodwill for $14.99. Lucky me, I was the only bidder! It came with a dust cover but no case. SGW South Florida did a wonderful job packaging for shipment. It arrived unscathed all the way from Miami.

I did a surface cleaning and also removed the bottom plate for light cleaning and brushing with alcohol, and dusting with an air compressor. It arrived in working order and did not need much of any servicing, no sticky keys.

This particular machine has some yellowing to the baby blue from exposure to cigarette smoke (I'm guessing) or sunlight. Doesn't bother me - I still think it is beautiful.

I stocked up on NOS cartridges so I can relax knowing I will be able to use this machine for many years. It is great for anything really, I like it for addressing envelopes thanks to the easy to read Pica typeface.

I love to write and found that writing on a typewriter is the most enjoyable and distraction-free way of doing it. I started with an Alphasmart, then moved to a Royalite, then to an Olympia SM5. The Olympia kept me fully satisfied for a good seven years until I got the bit by the collecting bug. Now I am slowly amassing my own personal typewriter museum. Typewriters are like personal printing presses. My partner is an engineer who can fix and clean any typewriter, so we make a great team.
