Description:
I found this machine in Newberg, OR (USA) from the original owner, who had bought the machine to use in high school in the 1970's. She was cleaning out her attic and found the machine. For US$30, it's not bad, though it could use some more cleaning, particularly the key-tops. The platen has been lightly sanded and cleaned, and the segment flushed. It was fairly quiet when I first turned it on, but it's developed an annoyingly loud hum. Like all type-bar electric, this one has a rather vigorous carriage return, but the machine is heavy enough that it doesn't move on the desktop. A stunning piece of Italian industrial design.

Retired industrial designer, now serving as a pastor. I have a collection of about 75 machines. I specialize in portables, and have only a few electric machines. In my opinion, typewriters and bicycles are the best examples of the man-machine interface. I live in SW Washington State, USA.
