Many hobbies, IBM Selectric Typewriters is one of them. Ex IBM Customer Engineer based in Wellington, New Zealand, 47 years Selectric experience. Active on the GolfballTypewriterShop on Facebook. After leaving IBM I worked for Triumph-Adler NZ for several years starting as a field engineer, moving up to Dealer Technical Support finally being conscripted into the National Service Manager role (I preferred being a tech) so I have a fondness for TA machines also.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the IBM Selectric I on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the IBM Serial Number page and the IBM Selectric I By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
