1974 Adler Electric MX Serial # 6539538 1974 Adler Electric MX typewriter, Serial # 6539538 Lupo Cuore's 1974 Adler Electric MX typewriter. 2022-08-21 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Lupo Cuore: 1974 Adler Electric MX Serial # 6539538 Acquired from ShopGoodwill as a parts machine for another MX I am restoring (relabelled by Remington as their model 101E). When it arrived, I discovered that it is a near twin of the Satellite, except with a plastic body. I've had a Satellite waiting for a replacement carriage assembly, and after trying to fix this MX, I donated its carriage assembly to the Satellite. That machine is also cataloged in the database.

The problem I tried to fix that resulted in it being a parts machine. Sorta got it working to get a type sample, but couldn't get it properly working... and the inside was nearly white with correction debris.

This lid attachment system is familiar anyone with a J-series or other Adler electrics.

Lidless look. Only a couple years after the Satellite and there was a lot more nylon in the mechanism as well as the case turning from metal to plastic. On the plus side, it's not nearly as heavy as the Satellite, which is a beast.

Not a typewriter pic, but I got a kick of what ShopGoodwill used as packaging - nice peach granny blanket! :D

New collector with a penchant for offbeat models/brands and, conversely, the mundane models many overlook, if I have a personal connection or just find them interesting. Finding that collecting typewriters is like eating potato chips, you can't have just one! Also restorer of mechanical calcs, Vintage audio, and vintage computers.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Adler Electric MX on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Adler Serial Number page and the Adler Electric MX By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
