Description:
A better typewriter than I expected it to be, the Sabre types well enough to avoid complaint, but not so well as to invite comparison to Royal portables of previous decades.
The machine's case, which is a mix of plastic and metal components, also surprises by feeling more solid than it looks. And were it not for the disjointed treatment of the fascia - a combination of fake woodgrain, metallic patterns, and gold pinstriping - I'd consider it a cute typewriter. However, as it is the poor Sabre has a face that would scare small children and drive discerning buyers to another brand.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal Sabre on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal Sabre By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
