Description:
A ShopGoodwill acquisition. A perfectly capable typewriter. It has an international keyboard but that's not too unusual considering it was sold in Norfolk, NATO's military HQ (the political HQ is in Europe). I do find it amusing they call it a "Compact Standard" as it has a case and is lighter than my SM9 (the SKM has a plastic body which likely why it's lighter than the metal-clad SM9) although a bit larger physically and with a wider carriage.

New collector with a penchant for offbeat models/brands and, conversely, the mundane models many overlook, if I have a personal connection or just find them interesting. Finding that collecting typewriters is like eating potato chips, you can't have just one! Also restorer of mechanical calcs, Vintage audio, and vintage computers.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia SKM on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia SKM By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
