It's a shame people use auction sites to set prices, without reading the description and realizing that a "new platen" ($100.00), and a "professionally cleaned, adjusted , and lubricated ($100.00) are the reason that the typewriter has that value online. The typewriter they have is worth $200..00 dollars less... They also want to compare/call it an Olivetti without understanding it was made in Spain, has a full plastic body, and the cheap vinyl travel case... one positive note, it is script,,, If that's important.... It will be a while, before I can pick this one up.

"I was born in a crossfire hurricane"...
A professor in college gave me the gift and appreciation of the letter form.
Typewriters are just little "print shops" for me.
I have an MFA in 3D Digital Sculpture.
I no longer mold young minds, by teaching art to high school students, everyday is a safari now...
In my spare time I own and operate an equal opportunity rescue shelter for all makes and models of typewriters that have been abandoned in the bottoms of closets.
No matter how many typewriters I am fortunate to be able to collect, my collection will not be as nice as Herman's...
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Underwood 315 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Underwood Serial Number page and the Underwood 315 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
