1972 Scheidegger (Adler) Typomatic TMS Serial # 4902377 1972 Scheidegger (Adler) Typomatic TMS typewriter, Serial # 4902377 Jerry Himes's 1972 Scheidegger (Adler) Typomatic TMS typewriter. 2024-07-22 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Jerry Himes: 1972 Scheidegger (Adler) Typomatic TMS Serial # 4902377 A rebranded Adler/Triumph Gabriele; most probably a unique hybrid version made exclusively for the Willy Scheidegger typewriting school.

As a piece of old Scheidegger ephemera I saw calls the machine "Scheidegger Matic TMS Star Typer", and the fact that the front of the machine reads "SCHEIDEGGER TYPOMATIC TMS" and the eraser table reads "STAR TYPER", I assume that the actual full name of the machine is Scheidegger Typomatic TMS Star Typer. While a tad bit ostentatious, I feel like it's a good and fun name for a good and fun typewriter. I would like to change the model name of my machine in the database to reflect this, but I don't want to create a double entry for the same machine.

It had been sitting on the previous owner's shelf as a decoration. Very dirty, but works very nicely after cleaning. Comes in a leather case, which I prefer over the plastic one. The mechanism for attaching the machine to the bottom of the case is pretty flimsy and annoying though, but the machine itself is very pleasant to use once in full working order.

Old standard Finnish keyboard layout. Standard Pica typeface.

I have been looking for ways to spend less time on electronic devices, and because of this I started doing my writing and translation work with pens and pencils, and now on typewriters as well.

I will probably start selling and giving away some of my machines after I figure out which ones are most useful to me. Some people have asked me for a working typewriter, so I have been on the lookout for machines purely for that purpose as well.

Machines sold/given away:
Triumph Gabriele 20
Hermes 3000 (3rd gen., French)
Student (Brother) Deluxe 850TR
Optima (Zentronik) Mod. 42
Scheidegger (Olivetti) President

Reviews done so far:

Erika Daro Model 41
Hermes 3000 (3rd gen.)
Olivetti Lettera 32
