1971 Olivetti Lettera 32 Serial # 5829151 1971 Olivetti Lettera 32 typewriter, Serial # 5829151 Sebastian Kleinschmidt's 1971 Olivetti Lettera 32 typewriter. 2020-07-18 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Sebastian Kleinschmidt: 1971 Olivetti Lettera 32 Serial # 5829151 This Olivetti Lettera 32 from 1971 (serial number 5829151) came to me by accident. I was at my girlfriend's grandmother's house and talked to her about my new obsession of collecting typewriters (it was the first time that I had met her). Lo and behold, a few hours later she remembered that a friend of hers had a typewriter to sell for their next flea market and that I could have it for next to nothing. I didn't know what kind of brand or model it would be but I said I would definitely like to have it - and it turned out to be this beautiful Lettera 32, which I had already on my list of typewriters I wanted to get in the future. And she even gave it to me for free. Totally lucky.

I blew it out with compressed air and cleaned it a wee bit here and there but it was in perfect working condition already. It looks like it was barely used at all and the ribbon still works even though it is faint (will change that soon). I particularly like the light touch in comparison to the earlier models I possess.

I'm a typewriter collector from Germany and interested in various kinds of brands and types from pre- and post-WW2, particularly focusing on Seidel & Naumann (Ideal & Erika), Triumph-Adler and Smith-Corona (my favourite brand!), although I own some other brands and am looking at some others (Underwood, Remington). I particularly like portables, my favourite pre-WW2 typewriter being the Erika 5 and my favourite post-WW2 typewriter being my Smith-Corona Silent-Super.
