Description:
This is my fourth Smith-Corona typewriter, a Profile from the 60s or 70s (serial number 6Y 696078W). It is in an okay condition with the plastic top of the right margin missing and no spools (I'll have to search for proper small ones). It needed a lot of cleaning and de-rusting. Now it is in a good working condition but it feels fragile and loose. It is nice to have in my collection but it won't become one of my favourite typewriters. It is also not properly aligned, I'll have to re-align it soon.

I'm a typewriter collector from Germany and interested in various kinds of brands and types from pre- and post-WW2, particularly focusing on Seidel & Naumann (Ideal & Erika), Triumph-Adler and Smith-Corona (my favourite brand!), although I own some other brands and am looking at some others (Underwood, Remington). I particularly like portables, my favourite pre-WW2 typewriter being the Erika 5 and my favourite post-WW2 typewriter being my Smith-Corona Silent-Super.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Profile on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Profile By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
