Yet another Remington portable this one a Travel-Riter DeLuxe with a Swedish keyboard. According to the database the Travel-Riters serial number with a BR prefix begins at 1963-64 with BR971671 but my Travel-Riter Deluxe have the serial number BR954273 which would date it to before 1963 around 1962 if I had to guess.
Anyways. I believe this is almost the same typewriter as the Monarch (another Remington portable) except without the tabulator and the key pressure lever. I have tried both side by side literally and I find that the Travel-Riter feels more I don't know how to describe it other than "static". Maybe it is just a difference in condition but of what I can tell they are both in pretty good shape. Maybe it otherwise might be something about the colour scheme of the Monarch which makes it feel warmer/smoother to type on? What ever it might be I enjoy the Monarch over this one. But the Travel-Riter Deluxe is by no means a bad typewriter I really recommend it if you want a simpler sturdy portable typewriter from USA with great feeling keys and who can say no to that classy chrome coloured Remington sign on the front panel and the X-shaped paper rest.

Hi my name is Kewin and I'm a 23 years old from Sweden. I have a few hobbies like drawing and playing guitar but I do also like myself some project here and there which is where my interest in typewriters fits in. I have always collected things through my life but I did not expect typewriters to be my next big passion in collecting. I started collecting typewriters in the beginning of 2022 and so far I have 71 of them (3 of which is currently disassembled) . I find it really enjoyable to pickup a typewriter at a thrift store/second hand and starting to clean it up and get it to a working condition to the best of my ability and knowledge. (Excuse all the dog hairs in my pictures, I do actually try to remove the hair before taking the pictures. xD) Cheers!
