Description:
$7.99+S&H. As much as I love blue typewriters and solving puzzles, this one may end up a donor for another of this make/model in the future. Carriage advances inconsistently and erratically, carriage rails grind... I'm thinking dropped and bent. Case is in poor condition and suggesting of a drop, too. Simple Pica typeface, some cracks and chips out of the blue plastic, etc.
The only thing that really intrigued me was the new serial number prefix. No other QUs in the database as of entry.

First typewriter bought in 6/2023, now at over 30 in my collection with most recorded in the galleries. There's a special place in my heart for Smith-Coronas, blue typewriters, and typewriters from 1964 (my parents' birth year). Prefer manuals to electrics, portables to ultra portables or desktops, but will head home with anything if it's cheap enough and functional/repairable. I've successfully gifted typewriters to two siblings, a best friend, and an in-law. Keeping up with my lifelong tradition of making and repairing by hand. When not typing or working on a typewriter, I'm often reading, gardening (vegetable), preserving harvests (canning, dehydrating, freezing), knitting, sewing, writing letters/short stories, or shooting film photography. I like the slow, analog life.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Remington Quiet-Riter Eleven on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Remington Serial Number page and the Remington Quiet-Riter Eleven By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
