Description:
Montana portable typewriter made in Italy, with Greek AZERTY typeface. I am not sure why I wanted to buy this machine. Maybe for its looks (it definitely is good looking), or for the beautiful leatherette case. I am sure it has seen much better days, although as I read from the limited available sources those Montanas were never products of very good quality - especially those that belong to the "third generation", like mine. I guess the only intention was to produce machines that look like the Hermes Baby, for easy rebranding and for those who could not afford to have an Hermes Baby. Fair enough. Maybe when I clean and service it a bit more I will like it better.

Writer and blogger from Athens, Greece. I own a small collection of typewriters, most of my machines are functional and I try to repair any with problems that keeps it from typing. For me, it is important for a typewriter not just to sit on a shelve for display, but to be able to type when I want to. On the links below you will find my blogs and social media profiles. Feel free to follow me and get in touch if you want. I am always happy to communicate :)
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Montana Luxe on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Montana Serial Number page and the Montana Luxe By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
